My experience at AirLife has taught me that consistency, an eagerness to learn and grow, and hard work pays off.
I started my career at SunaMed 7 years ago as a Customer Complaint Coordinator. Medical device manufacturing was a complete shift of industry for me. What I liked most about the opportunity was having a better balance of work and family time, and the ability to impact lives through my work – which I hadn’t had before.
Now I’m a Business Analyst for Sales and Marketing. It’s hard to believe I’ve had 5 different roles in just 7 years. After Customer Complaint Coordinator I moved into a Quality Systems Coordinator role which allowed me to expand multiple quality system processes. My next step in my journey was Quality Specialist. In that role I had the opportunity to manage the creation of new processes, working with the full scope of our QMS. I gained tremendous knowledge of how to handle customer complaints, product, process non-conformances, corrective/preventive actions, and a more in-depth knowledge of medical device regulations. I eventually became the main Lead Internal Auditor for our QMS. Following that role, I became the Senior Quality Specialist that included managing more complex projects. With the growth of the company, I’ve implemented a global training management process and merged other processes, including the shift from our paper-based system to a new EQMS. Today, in the Business Analyst role, I oversee AirLife’s OEM project process, working closely with Sales in proposal developments and project management to enhance sales efforts and aid in project efficiency.
My career advancement opportunities came from AirLife’s encouragement to stretch our knowledge and my personal drive to learn more. Persistence and positive work ethic help me drive the best quality processes for internal and external constituents. In addition, there are several people who have helped me along the way – providing mentorship that pushed me to grow.
In my current role, I appreciate that I have autonomy in my work, every day is different, and every project is different. I love that I’m able to use what I’ve learned from all my other roles at AirLife. This experience aligns with my long-term career goals in Business Administration.
My experience at AirLife has taught me that consistency, an eagerness to learn and grow, and hard work pays off. Knowing that my job is valued and appreciated helps me keep moving when challenges arise.
For anyone considering a career at AirLife, you’ll know it’s the right company if you’re looking for growth. Also, the culture feels like family, yet each of us plays a part in helping to impact lives.
